Now in its 9th edition, the Grant aims to empower the work and careers of female and non-binary professionals of all ages and from all countries working in diverse areas of photography. The main recipients will share a total of €10,000 in cash. First place will receive €5,000, second place will receive €2,000, and third place will receive €1,000. Additionally, the New Generation category will be awarded €2,000. Among the prizes is a solo exhibition at PhMuseum Lab in Bologna, Italy, in 2026, with travel, accommodation, and production costs included. Lucija Rosc, Rita Puig-Serra, Sara Bastai, and Sayuri Ichida are among the exhibited artists in the past editions.

In addition, up to 40 shortlisted works will be screened at PhotoVogue Festival 2026, in Milan, Italy, while the Vogue Italia photography department, led by Alessia Glaviano, will further select a work among all of the submissions for an online featured interview. PhMuseum's team will also select 6 photographers from all the applicants, who will be granted a 60-minute online portfolio review with a mentor of their choice from the PhMuseum Education program.

The jury composed of Amak Mahmoodian (Artist and Educator), Katy Hundertmark (Curator and Managing Editor of FOAM Magazine), Mónica de Miranda (Visual Artist and Researcher), and Diana Markosian (Photographer) will also assign honorable mentions to highlight projects they highly took into consideration.

The application period will open on 26 August. Discover more on PhMuseum's website.

Promoted by Fundación MAPFRE, the biennial KBr Photo Award aims to foster a critical and in-depth understanding of the defining social, political, territorial, and environmental issues of our time. The award supports established international photographers with unpublished projects that honor the rich tradition of documentary practice. The winning photographer will receive a €25,000 prize, an exhibition of their project at the foundation's two galleries (KBr and Madrid), and an accompanying published catalogue. This year, the jury is composed of Diane Dufour (Co-Director of LE BAL), Ramón Reverté (Editor at Editorial RM), Krzysztof Candrowicz (Independent Curator), Gabriela Urtiaga (Chief Curator of the Museum of Latin American Art – MOLAA in Los Angeles), and Carlos Gollonet (Chief Curator of Photography at Fundación MAPFRE).

Eidolon Grant 2025

Deadline 31 August / No entry fee

The Eidolon Grant offers a total of €25,000 across two categories for projects that explore, promote, and conserve vernacular photography—from analogue archives to contemporary image cultures. This year’s call focuses on 19th–20th-century everyday photography and 21st-century digital visual practices, supporting proposals that critically engage with the social, aesthetic, and cultural significance of how we’ve photographed, and continue to photograph, our daily lives. Whether drawing from family albums, forgotten archives, or Instagram feeds, selected projects will contribute to Eidolon’s mission to reframe the meaning of everyday images through innovative research, artistic interpretation, or curatorial practice. Among the jurors are Nathan Jurgenson, Barbara Levine and Paige Ramey, Lev Manovich, Marcel Top, and Róza Tekla Szilágyi.
