Exhibitions in historical and industrial locations, talks, public activities, workshops and a photobook hub characterise our festival, which is meant as an occasion to gather in person and and share contemporary photography with the public. Each year, we research on a specific theme with the aim to challenge conventional ways to present works in a physical dimension. The festival represents and occasion to work closely with our team and become part of the group of invited artists joining us the opening us for the opening weekend.

The theme CLOSER was an opportunity to reflect on our perception of things and on the way it changes when we look more carefully, or from a different point of view. We live in an era in which it is not possible to imagine any objective detachment between us and reality. Observation itself touches and changes things, every story is contamination. The works on show do not attempt to achieve an impossible neutrality, but accept the partiality that comes from looking closely. They make intimacy their strength: in interpersonal relationships as much as in that with the territory, with history, and with living beings.

“I Don't Know How To Respond To That” is the answer that virtual assistants like Apple Siri give when they can't find a solution to our questions. The aim is to explore the dialogue between humans and machine, with a particular focus on the development of language in a broad sense. Through the works on display we have tried to understand how our relationship with technology and our ways of communicating evolve in a world characterized by continuous innovations.
Solo exhibitions by: Andy Sewell, Gloria Oyarzabal, Felicity Hammond, Luca Massaro, Brea Souders, Daniel Everett, Leonardo Magrelli, The Cool Couple, Chloé Milos Azzopardi, Martina Giammaria, Sara Bastai.

Driven by a strong moment of change, Today is Yesterday's Tomorrow was examining the interplay of past, present and future, and the impact of our actions over time. The selected works were taken as starting points to reflect on the eternal return of history, on the need to live in the present while recognizing its power over our future, opening up towards speculative interpretations of reality.
