The PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant offers €10,000 in cash, plus a solo show at PhMuseum Lab, screenings at Photo Vogue Festival, and more.
Overview
Now in its 9th edition, the PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant, aims to empower the work and careers of female and non-binary professionals of all ages and from all countries working in diverse areas of photography. It supports the growth of the new generations and promote stories narrated from a female perspective, while responding to the need to work for gender equality in the industry.
Practical Info
To participate, photographers are invited to submit one or more projects centered around a specific theme, narrative or concept. All approaches are welcome from classic to more experimental projects, and applicants can present more than one work. Each project should have between 5 and 20 photos.
The main grant recipients will share a total of €10,000 in cash. First place will receive €5,000, second place will receive €2,000, and third place will receive €1,000. Additionally, the New Generation category will be awarded €2,000.
Among the prizes is a solo exhibition at PhMuseum Lab in Bologna, Italy, in 2026, with travel, accommodation, and production costs included. In addition, up to 40 shortlisted works will be screened at PhotoVogue Festival 2026, in Milan, Italy, while the Vogue Italia photography department, led by Alessia Glaviano will further select a work among all of the submissions for an online featured interview. PhMuseum's team will also select 6 photographers from all the applicants, who will be granted a 60-minute online portfolio review with a mentor of their choice from the PhMuseum Education program. Judges will also assign honorable mentions to highlight projects they highly took into consideration.
The jury is composed of Amak Mahmoodian (Artist and Educator), Katy Hundertmark (Curator and Managing Editor of FOAM Magazine), Mónica de Miranda (Visual Artist and Researcher), and Diana Markosian (Photographer).
