Walking on the equatorial line the centrifugal forces that push to North and South are equivalent, therefore it is very difficult to remain in balance. The condition of Ecuador, like many Latin American countries, reminds this precarious balance.

On the one hand the new constitution written under President Rafael Correa, the nationalization of oil resources and large investments in infrastructure push the country along an unprecedented cultural and economic change. On the other hand the consequences of the centenary exploitation of resources, international interests and conservative forces are still present in the country. It’s on this balance between past and future that is being built on a new identity, not yet well defined, but which strives to bring its contribution to the development of the entire Latin America .
