The second issue of PhMuseum’s annual publication follows another full year in contemporary photography. Across 256 pages, you will find twelve extensive portfolios, four exhibitions, a focus on the city of Athens, and an intermezzo dedicated to education.

The year’s four seasons become chapters, dividing the publication into symmetrical sections. Within them, photographers, writers, curators and editors engage in conversations around healing, performance, community and metaphorical approaches to the medium. Each season also includes a chapter of a photographic inquiry into Athens, guided by local photographers, publishers, and directors of festivals and art spaces.

The title of this issue, Giardino, frames the publication as a metaphorical garden. Like the gardens that have shaped history, at times engineered, at times meditative, and inherently incomplete, this annual is both a structure and a living space, a site of refuge and reflection where you are invited to wander, contemplate, and cultivate your own understanding.
