From the oral rituals of the Nacirema to modern industrialized cosmetic dentistry, from pervasive advertising to the "Hollywood" smiles promoted by social media, having straight. white teeth has become a popularly recognized symbol of ideal body image and beauty, and ultimately projected as a symbol of social stratification. The socio-cultural attributes attached to whitening and orthodontic dental "cosmetic surgery" have exceeded their own health significance, and have become a contemporary bodily ritual, and have even subconsciously become our discipline and requirements for the self.

The entire project consists of a variety of materials, including secondary processed archival images, fashion magazine images of blister packs and affixed brackets, digitally processed archives of perfect occlusal curves, and conceptualized images that interact with simple devices. Starting from early and recent images of cosmetic dentistry, the project attempts to appropriated and secondary creations to visualize the invisible power of cosmetic dentistry, and ultimately leads to an established future where the incorruptible orthodontic bracket becomes a brand new organ of the human being.
