LANDSCAPES OF A PROTEST (SERIES LIMA III)

Landscapes of a protest during the social mobilizations against the socio-political situation that are taking place in the Peruvian reality.

This series is developed under two contexts:

The mobilizations that occurred in the city of Lima as a result of the vacancy of the now former president Martín Vizcarra with a background far beyond that encompasses the social, economic and political inequalities that the general population rejects, close to the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru and under the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.

The second context is developed under the connection of this series with other two made previous years and all deal with the city of Lima. The first series called: When the night falls (Series Lima I) https://phmuseum.com/davidhuamanibedoya/story/when-the-night-falls-series-lima-i-d449b20b17

The second series called: The involution of history (Series Lima II) https://phmuseum.com/davidhuamanibedoya/story/the-involution-of-history-series-lima-ii-627ea4ffe9

Both portray the changes and social situations that occur in the city better known as the City of the Kings and the contradictions that this name does not show.

In this third series the urban landscape predominates in relation to its inhabitants and how they use the streets to express their discontent. The shots were taken with a 24mm ts-e lens and each image has an exposure of between 2 to 10 seconds. The series was held on November 12, 14 and 16. This series is not intended to be journalistic images.

Dozens of wounded and two people died were the results of the repression by the police. The photo shows the altar in memory of the two deceased (Inti Sotelo and Bryan Pintado) made days after the event. Little by little everything returns to normal.
