CENTER Santa Fe Calls for Entry, Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Photography Award, PhotoWork Senior Fellowship, VAP – Visiting Artist Program, Talent Latent, and BBK Award are among the opportunities we selected this month.
CENTER Santa Fe Calls for Entry 2025

This year CENTER Santa Fe offers $16,000 in funding, group exhibition at their new gallery and education hub in Santa Fe, admission to the Review Santa Fe portfolio reviews, featured publication within LENSCRATCH, access to seminars, and more.
Key grants include $5,000 each for completed (Project Launch Grant) and in-progress (Project Development Grant) documentary or fine art series. The Me&Eve Award provides $1,000 in financial support to a female or LGBTQIA2S+ photographer 40 years of age and over. The Multimedia Award supports narrative-driven projects using lens-based media for social action, documenting crucial issues, and amplifying underrepresented voices. The award is open, but not limited to, photography, video, new media, photojournalism, installation, and web-based works. CENTER also recognizes images in the Personal, Social, and Environmental categories. Plus, photographers can apply for the Review Santa Fe Photo Symposium taking place in historic downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, November 1-3, 2025. Finally, the Callanan Excellence in Teaching Award honors a high school, college, or postgraduate teacher’s dedication and commitment to their students and the photographic field, with $5,000, Review Santa Fe participation, and seminars.

Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Photography Award 2025

Simultaneously a museum, a cultural center, and a place for research and teaching, the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac aims to promote the diversity of photographic practices and forms in international contemporary creation. Three non-European laureates will receive a €30,000 grant each to work on a new project that will be included in the museum's collections. This fixed rate aims to cover all expenses incurred during the carry out the project (travel, accommodation, technical costs, etc.) as well as the transfer of rights granted by the author to the museum for the photographic work to be included in the museum's collections. The costs associated with the laureate’s stay in Paris for the printing of its photographic work (transport, daily allowance and accommodation) as well as the costs associated with the physical production of the said photographic work will be covered by the museum.

2025 PhotoWork Senior Fellowship

The PhotoWork Senior Fellowship grants $10,000 to each of three US-based photographers who demonstrate a sustained commitment to post-documentary photography and exhibit both the readiness and capability to work with a photography advisor toward creating a book maquette of a comprehensive body of work. Selected photographers will be provided six months (from May to October 2025) of online mentorship and expert guidance in photobook creation, including conception, design, and distribution. One of these grants, the Teresa Goodman Grant, specifically supports a woman photographer under 40, honoring Teresa Goodman's legacy in photography and curatorial practice.
Each Fellow will be carefully matched with a photobook Advisor from the list of PhotoWork Foundation Mentors and Advisors, which includes industry leaders like Dannielle Bowman, Kelli Connell, Lois Conner, Carolyn Drake, Doug DuBois, Rahim Fortune, Ron Jude, Raymond Meeks, Kristine Potter, Wendy Red Star, and Bryan Schutmaat.

VAP – Visiting Artist Program Open Call 2025

Fonderia 20.9 offers a total budget of €1,000 and invites artists to explore in-progress projects within a full-scale gallery, encouraging experimentation and public interaction in their gallery in Verona, Italy, from 1 to 7 December 2025. With the gallery open throughout the week, artists receive feedback and engage with visitors in a collaborative setting. The residency culminates in a final showcase, where participants present their work in a formal setting, gaining insight to refine their research and ideas further. As Fonderia 20.9 operates as an in-house production hub, all production will be managed internally, allowing the selected artist to maximize this budget by accessing materials and services at production cost.

Talent Latent 2025

SCAN is dedicating the programme of the 12th edition of Talent Latent to exploring the theme of water as vital to the survival of humans and all life on our planet, but also connected to human-induced changes in the oceans that are affecting the climate, marine ecosystems, and coastal communities. In addition, culture, spirituality, mythology and even leisure have been deeply linked to water.
Invited independent curator Diana Padrón will select the projects and artists that will be part of the central exhibition of the SCAN festival, taking place at Tinglado 2 at the Port of Tarragona, Spain, from 10 October to 7 December 2025. Each artist will receive a €500 fee and three copies of the exhibition catalogue. Plus, they will be invited to the opening weekend of the Festival, 10-12 October 2025. The invitation will include 2 nights’ accommodation, admission ticket for the catered opening event, admission to Full Contact professional meeting and lunch at the Teatret del Serrallo.

2025 Residency For Ukrainian Artists In Riga

A one or two months funded residency in Riga, Latvia, from May to December 2025, is offered to three Ukrainian artists by ISSP, kuš! comics, and TUR, providing a comfortable city-center apartment, a €1,000 scholarship, up to €250 for transportation, and organizational support, including an invitation letter for additional funding applications and access to the local art scene. Residents are expected to work on their projects, engage with the public through events like artist talks, and provide documentation and copies of their work post-residency, residing in a shared, fully equipped apartment with private bedrooms and communal spaces, located on the third floor of a building without an elevator.

The Hasselblad Foundation Photo Book Grants 2025
Deadline 1 April / No entry fee
The Hasselblad Foundation offers two SEK 100,000 (€8,800) grants to support the development and publication of unpublished photobooks by professionals working with photography (including photographers, artists, curators, researchers, and writers), emphasizing projects with research collaboration, social engagement, innovative design, or environmental sustainability. Plus, the author(s) of the book must be ready to participate in activities organized by the Hasselblad Foundation related to the grant, such as an award ceremony and other events. The selection committee includes Jacob Birch, Maryam Fanny, Andréas Hagström and Dragana Vujanovic Östlind.

BBK Award 2025

The Basque Dok Festival seeks to champion socially conscious visual projects (open to photography, video art, and installations) that address social issues such as exclusion, inequality or vulnerability, using the contemporary image as a tool for reflection and change. The €10,000 prize includes €3,000 for the artist, full production of the winning project for exhibition in June 2025, and publication of a catalog, all aimed at maximizing visibility and impact, as part of its commitment to contemporary image as a tool for social change.

Ronan Guillou Grant 2025 / Deadline 13 March / No entry fee
Part of the CIVIS MARITIMUS program and developed by the Eyes Wide Open Association, the Ronan Guillou Grant offers a €4,000 bursary to two European or Mediterranean photographers to create a photographic project in the Occitanie region, specifically around Sète, Étang de Thau, and the Golfe du Lion, exploring the relationship between humans and the marine world, focusing on social, cultural, ecological, or heritage issues. Projects should explore the issues of our future in synergy with the sea and/or defend a progressive - or militant - vision to radically raise awareness.
Foto Wien 2025 Open Call / Deadline 25 March / No entry fee
Foto Wien invites Vienna-based museums, galleries, cultural institutions, and photography professionals to participate in its program themed Dynamic Futures and taking place from October 3 to November 2, 2025. Submissions for exhibition projects or special events that explore speculative future scenarios through photographic images, encompassing artistic, scientific, and archival sources, provided applicants have a pre-existing exhibition venue in Vienna.
Barcelona Experimental Hub Solo Exhibitions Open Call / Deadline 10 March / Entry fee €20
With no theme limitations, the open call is open to projects or images exploring the future of creative, alternative, and experimental photography. Five artists will be selected and awarded a two-month solo exhibition at the Experimental Hub in Barcelona, a 10-month photography Diploma in Experimental Photography at Ágora (valued at €600), a full pass to the Experimental Photo Festival 2025, including two 4-hour workshops (valued at €230), and €200 in cash to support the production of their exhibition or their presence at the event.
