Photobook Mania 2026

PhMuseum presents the second edition of Photobook Mania, an event dedicated to photobooks, which will be held on 3-4 October 2026 at Serra Madre, inside Serre dei Giardini in Bologna, Italy.

Overview

Photobook Mania officially joins the PhMuseum Days program for the first time. Hosted on October 3 and 4 in the spaces of Serra Madre at Giardini Margherita, the second edition of this event dedicated to photographic publishing will bring together independent publishers, artists, schools, and international booksellers. Through workshops and panel discussions, it establishes itself as a hub for dialogue on photobook practices and contemporary publishing culture.

Exhibitors will include: Altana (Italy), Asola Press (Italy), Atelier Tatanka (Italy), Blow Up Press (Poland), CESURA Publish (Italy), Ciao Press (Switzerland), Chose Commune (France), Départ pour l'Image (Italy), Editorial RM (Spain / Mexico), Erik Kessels (Netherlands), Gnomic Book (Norway), GOST Books (United Kingdom), ISIA U (Italy), KABK (Netherlands), L’Artiere (Italy), Leporello photobooks et al. (Italy), Overlapse (United Kingdom), PhMuseum (Italy), RVM Hub (Italy), Shibboleth (Italy), Witty Books (Italy), Yogurt Editions (Italy).

The program will be also rounded out by two exhibitions dedicated to the material and design aspects of the photobook.

Dummies & Books From FOLIO 2025/26 presents the prototypes created by participants in the fifth edition of FOLIO – PhMuseum Online Masterclass on Photobook Making, who, over the course of eight months, worked under the guidance of Nicolas Polli – photographer, graphic designer, and founder of Ciao Press – to transform their photographic works into editorial projects. The exhibition features books by Ege Tascioglu, Federica Carducci, Julia Bohle, Justina Leston, Kate van der Drift, Manu Gruber and Tim Gassauer, Marge Westreich, Raul Guillermo, Stefanie Lagenhoven, Stephanie Schwiederek, Vivian Poey, and Yvette Monahan.

The second exhibition, The Riso Book, curated by the Atelier Tatanka studio, presents a selection of books an publications from across Europe created using the Risograph technique, exploring its possibilities within the fields of photography and independent publishing. The selection views the book not merely as a container of images, but as an object in which photography, design, paper, binding, materials, finishes, and printing techniques all contribute to the creation of the work.

In addition to the rich editorial presence and the exhibitions, the Photobook Mania program includes meetings with authors, publishers, and industry professionals.
