The fifth edition of PhMuseum’s International Photography Festival revolves around the pivotal concept of Archipelago – a visual and philosophical investigation freely inspired by Massimo Cacciari’s reflections on the topology of a continent and wandering within the context of the crisis of modernity.
In an era of fragmentation and fluid boundaries, the exhibitions, book presentations, workshops, and panel discussions will create a space for archipelagic thought. Here, aesthetic and conceptual diversities will engage in dialogue within an open system, reflecting the complexities of the contemporary world.
The core of the exhibition program will take place at the Ex Ospedale dei Bastardini, to then spread across the city, reaching the Cortile dell’Archiginnasio, the former municipality billboards in collaboration with CHEAP, and the PhMuseum Lab. An OFF Circuit will further broaden the scope of the festival, involving local independent spaces and galleries.
The second edition of our book fair Photobook Mania will run concurrently on October 3–4 at Serra Madre, Giardini Margherita – a green hub entirely dedicated to printed matter, bringing together international publishers and artists.
