Before falling into the deep valley

This project records a special experience. In Shimenkan, a remote area, I met a priest named "Wang" from the UK. I was very curious why he had left his hometown to come to such a distant place, so he told me his complicated past and history with this land

In Shimenkan, there is an ancient legend. It is said that after people pass away, through a specific sorcery for the soul-calling and prayer ceremony, they can reunite with their deceased relatives at the intersection of life and death, in the hazy zone between dreams and reality. This legend deeply attracted him. He said, "I witnessed a light, and countless light spots flashed before me. I felt their presence, tightly wrapping around my body. Then, I stepped into a vast and empty swamp. Although I tried my best to stay, a sudden mist surrounded me. When I could see clearly again, I was already back in reality." During further exploration, we gradually discovered that the arrival of the missionaries in the past not only brought different cultures to Shimenkan but also collided and merged with the local beliefs, forming a unique cultural landscape. And this story about an unexpected journey, family history, and spiritual home is like a falling meteor, constantly flashing across my heart.
