Your fingers have no muscles examines the impact of the assault on reproductive rights, particularly in the context of abortion bans, and the collective trauma that ensues. By mining personal experiences and the collective voice through ethnographic research, I create collages that delve into the physical and psychological suffering women endure, particularly when navigating a medical system that disregards their pain. I obsessively curate, cut, scan, collage, and rephotograph everything, creating a ritualistic way of working that weaves a psychological narrative throughout my work. The images become an amalgamation of birth, sex, the body, pain, and history, analyzing the carnage of patriarchal systems designed to restrict, oppress, and ultimately silence women.
