What is a thought? What is an idea? A flicker of chemicals across a membrane, a fleeting impulse. But sometimes, a thought lingers. It takes shape. It demands to be made real.
Photography, for me, is the act of pulling something intangible into existence—staging a moment, capturing the evidence, making something that wasn’t there before feel like it always was. But how much of what we see is ever truly real? A photograph can be a document, but it can also be a construction—an illusion that feels like truth.
This series exists in that space between fiction and reality, an imagined world built from fragments of real experiences—half-remembered movies, books that left an impression, songs that refuse to leave my head. These images feel like film stills from a story that doesn’t fully exist, fragments of something just beyond reach. Maybe that’s all identity is, too—a collection of moments, real or imagined, pieced together. A constructed narrative we tell ourselves. A series of scenes turning into something that feels like truth.
