Yosemite 2022

Playing around with my first medium-format camera in Yosemite Valley and the surrounding area, simple snaps, a good way to flex the old photography muscles.

Ever since finishing my thesis last May, it's been hard for me to kickstart a photographic practice outside of art school. I work better in film than in digital, and I have a real love for large format work, but the lack of portability can be a hindrance sometimes. This spring I bought myself a medium format film camera, to see if that bridged any gaps.

These photographs are simply my first outing with that camera, and explorations in how it works, how I work with it, and reminders of how lovely it is to be out in the world and shooting with film without carting around tripods and giant camera cases.
