Xtreme Sightings is a series about the visual hyperstimulation of contemporary urban living.

“Xtreme Sightings” is a photography series that explores the visual hyper-stimulation of contemporary urban living and its recent transformation in human interactions.

Photographs unfold like a hyperkinetic ballad, moving from hallucinatory architectural views, where the observer is invited to question their own visual perception of reality, to intimate close-ups of individuals, capturing behaviors that have reached new extremes since 2020.

The viewer experiences an ever-intensified mutation of basic human interactions, through digitalization and social networks, contactless dating and transactions, an overload of logos and advertising in public spaces, a growing cleavage between Western and Eastern cultures, and a collectively heightened sense of individualization within globalization.

By associating hypnotic, large-scale views with zoomed-in figurative portraits highlighting a reshaped normalcy, the series intentionally transcends the viewer’s initial interpretation of images. It drives them to question both their perceptual apparatus and their emotional response to the subject of the photographs.

Today, we are at a crossroads where urban life and human interactions have drastically changed in a very short span of time. Photographs, which equivocate between alienation and intimacy, playfully investigate these changes and subsequent extreme sightings.
