Working Against Time (2021) compares the story of the 8th Century landscape within the Welsh border to the modern 21st Century landscape to discover whether both terrains are still intertwined. The work consists of three elements; temporary sculptural interventions from the story of Offa, areas that have suffered human impact and landscapes left to run wild. Using found materials in the locality, Edwards constructed sculptural interventions from the Battle of Maldron to illustrate the current cutting down of trees in the forest. She dismantles her installations after recording their existence, leaving a minimal impact on the natural environment. Even though Edwards' sculptural interventions are temporary, she becomes immersed within a site and feels connected to the environment. Her installations display a performative element allowing her works to become more that an installations and to become part of the landscape. Edwards' landscape art acts as a reminder of the long history of man's relationship with the Offa's Dyke Path, preserving it into the future, marking this time within the landscape.
