My subject is Samira, a 21 years old woman I encountered in small village called Alaró, Mallorca. Through this series, I sought to capture her essence, celebrating her unapologetic authenticity and the quiet, enduring resilience of femininity.

This documentary portrait series follows Samira, a 21-year-old woman who grew up in Argentina and moved to Alaró, Mallorca this year. Our connection began at a local café where she worked. On the day we met, I was feeling anxious, absorbed in my own thoughts. She served me coffee and an omelet, and when I paid, she noticed my camera. With a natural curiosity, she asked if I would photograph her, and that spontaneous moment sparked friendship between me and Samira.

We later explored her neighborhood, where she proudly showed me graffiti she had created, a reflection of her artistic nature. Her tattoos, especially the “siete (7)” motif, held personal significance, while the rhinestones around her eyes shows her bold, unique style.

Samira's feminist convictions are strong, as are her bonds with like-minded friends. She once called me "a feminist icon" after seeing my Instagram, appreciating how my work highlights body positivity and individuality in fashion portrait. Her charm lies in the contrast between her radiant smile and the strength of her personality—vulnerable yet powerful. Through this series, I sought to capture her essence, celebrating her unapologetic authenticity and the quiet, enduring resilience of femininity.
