Photos of a neighborhood at the foot of Kansas City's downtown.
The West Bottoms is located at the foot of Kansas City's downtown and was for many years the site of trade between the original inhabitants, or "Indians", and French fur trappers. Then trains and the Anglo-Europeans arrived and it morphed into a stockyards. WWII and some major floods emptied the place until recently. The old warehouses and office buildings are being restored and converted to residences and office space.
My purpose in bringing a camera to the bottoms was to exercise my eye. To quicken my visual reflexes and restore in my photography the dominance of right brain over left.
