Walks With My Dogs

At face value there is nothing really remarkable about me walking my dogs, it’s an ordinary task that many would find mundane and repetitive. But after a busy day it’s a chance for me to unwind a little; stretch my legs and get some fresh air. A sense of clarity sometimes develops as I walk, and I am able to see the world with fresh eyes. Our walks around Observatory in Cape Town bring to light a rich patchwork of stories; some whimsical, some enigmatic, some poignant. With my photographs I tie imaginary threads, creating an intricate narrative tapestry of the place I call home.

Footnote: I’ve presented these photos in diptych layouts, a crucial design feature of this series as the narratives are generated in the space between specific photos. It's an ongoing project, but I eventually plan to produce a book of all the images that make up this body of work.
