Until my last drop of Blood

A project born as a provocation is becoming a reconnection to my familiar environment, through a playful process, trying to bring to light the unspoken words, the silent dreams, everything that accompanied us both as a family and as single individuals.

This ongoing projects signs the healing of a wound, the reconnection of two generations, a playful rediscovery of myself and the people who raised me, Gabriella and Giovanni, my parents. What should have been a series of shots aimed at showing the generation gap that divides us, are instead becoming a new way of reconnecting with them. Through the family archive of pictures from their 30’s, my same actual age, I rediscovered two playful, bubbly, curious lovers and I began to look at them as Gabriella and Giovanni, no longer just as mum and dad. These capture moments of intimacy, everyday frames, simple objects, inevitable and necessary, almost like the air, to describe what is conceived as a “home” in a shared way.

“Until my last drop of blood” brings to light all those habits that can become suffocating in adulthood, those unspoken phrases that accompany us from childhood and that peep out over and over in our heads. They are not necessarily rules imposed by parents, however they are insurmountable dogmas that mark the life of each of us, becoming projections from generation to generation.
