Twinsburg

Twins Days is the largest annual gathering of Twins and Multiples in the world. Held in the small town of Twinsburg, Ohio, The event has taken place every summer since 1976 when the festival was founded by a group of Twinsburg citizens.

Within my personal work I have been exploring narratives that look at community and traditional events as well as the humanistic need to be present in a collective human experience. I found Twins Days a celebration of social diversity by connecting one uniting aspect – being a twin or multiple.

In a time when community is often referred to in a digital space, where association is attained though more of an interpersonal togetherness, these eventful one-day worlds offer a surreal sense of joyful transience gained through shared in-person human interaction.
