TUPAY

Tupay means reunion in Quechua. After not having a relationship with my dad for almost all my life, I was going to spend 4 days with him in Cusco, Peru where he currently lives. These are some photos of our time together.

Like many people, I didn't know what it was like to have a dad growing up. My dad was not present, not even to call on my birthday. This caused a lot of resentment towards him that I held on to for many years. I started healing this abandonment wound a few years back from afar, he was not aware but he probably felt it when I called to ask him to spend some time with him. With this visit, my intention was to get to know him and to my surprise, I really liked him.
