This is not a Road Trip, this is not America. Photographed in the Terres de l’Ebre region in southern Catalonia, Spain. The series looks at ordinary landscapes and built environments that unintentionally echo the visual language of the American roadsid

The photographs were made while discovering the region after buying a house there. Moving through small towns, industrial areas and residential outskirts, I began noticing scenes that felt visually familiar.

Abandoned gas stations, improvised workshops, RV parking areas, damaged factory walls, fenced lots and stray dogs appearing on rooftops.

These places are not remarkable in themselves. They are fragments of everyday infrastructure and peripheral spaces shaped by use and neglect.

By isolating them, the images create a small geographic ambiguity. Although photographed in southern Spain, the scenes can briefly resemble somewhere else.

The work draws on the visual tradition of roadside and topographic photography, focusing on the quiet traces of human presence in the landscape.
