The Spirit of Lagos is a personification of the peculiar existential state of being a "Lagosian".
Lagos is one of Nigeria's most developed and urban cities. It is the commercial capital of the Nation and one of Africa's biggest commercial hubs. It is a big city/state with a huge population. Its peculiarly known for its energy and ever busyness. Its the land that never sleeps. You hear a lot of Lagosians say they can't survive in any other city in Nigeria, which is true. The peculiarity of Lagos and its weirdness is actually a psycho-spiritual phenomenon that ends up dominating the life of inhabitants till they become totally enchanted, initiated and subdued by this existential reality called LAGOS.
The Spirit of Lagos is a collection of images expressing how Lagos typically takes over the entirety of its inhabitants' life.
This collection thus personifies this Lagosian life as not just a mere state of existence but as a very powerful active life force-one catalysed by a spirit called Lagos.
