The Londrangar cliffs are remains of a crater which has been eroded to its present form by sea and winds. The name "Geysir" has been first mentioned in written sources in 18th century and, as unusual natural phenomena were of high interest during Enlightenment, it has been used for similar features worldwide since then. It lies in Haukadalur valley, where most of the springs run with the tectonic lines

Gljúfrabúi means "the one who lives in the gorge".The water runs through the edge of a lava field formed at the beginning of Holocene.There is a certain mystique over these falls because partially obscured by their own canyon. People believed that it was the residence of huldufólk or "hidden people"

Goðafoss,the "fall of the gods",Northeastern Region.Around the year 999 the lawspeaker Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland.According to a modern myth,it's said that upon returning from the Alþingi, Þorgeir threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall
