The Noise Turns Into Silence is a project where I explore fears inflicted by the experiences of others. This work came to exist because of neighbours I have had, whom I suspect dealt with loneliness and alienation.

The Noise Turns Into Silence is a project where I explore fears inflicted by the experiences of others. This work came to exist because of neighbours I have had, whom I suspect dealt with loneliness and alienation. In both cases, the neighbour was an elderly man who lived alone. I never met these men, but I experienced their loneliness indirectly and it resonated with my own feelings. It is my perception of these men and their struggles as symbols of a universal feeling of being alone in the world that I want to express with this project. Through my shared indirect experience, I had with these two men, my own fears were exposed. I pity these men but through them, I saw a glimpse of myself and that made me afraid. Through images and text, I explore the characteristics of the two men's loneliness and struggles as well I  try and confront my own fears and question why these men I did not know had such a lasting impact on me.
