The Lola Project

The Lola Project

In these images, my aim is neither to romanticize sex work nor is it to portray the sex worker’s body as a site of abjection. Rather, it is to explore the formal qualities of this very specific—and often neglected—embodiment of labor. The sex worker’s body is not a passive object, but a barrier; a threshold of weight, posture, costume, and flesh that retains—rather than disavows—its exposure and vulnerability as a precondition for touching and being touched.
