A time capsule of over 3k hours of childhood home movies (super 8mm film, digital 8 cassettes, negatives), a documentation of every life detail, re-examined and re-edited.
"Time the destroyer, time the preserver.”—T.S Eliot. This mixed media project (comprised of
thousands of hours of personal family home movies, present/past portraiture and audio) will be edited, re-examined and weaved together to create a narrative that is my autobiography. As I develop, process, transfer, archive and edit the materials, I am exploring new ways to interpret the concepts of 'identity' and 'time'. Who/what/when makes us who we are? The struggled relationship between my parents and myself will be closely examined in both past and present time. My intention is to heal, reflect on my identity and to cope with the passage of time—the loss, the gain, the experience, the everything in between. And, yes, the beauty and wonder of it all.
