The Calling of The Steppes is my photographic reflection on displacement, and generational memory. Rooted in a history shaped by relocation, this work carries the quiet grief of uprooted lives and landscapes that were left behind.

The unexpected passing of a family member erases a whole world of memories without warning, leaving only fragments of stories we can never fully recover. I feel a deep urgency to preserve my family archives and safeguard those fragments before they disappear. For me, photographs are vessels of presence, evidence of love, and proof that a life was lived. In a world where displacement continues across borders and generations, I see photography as a universal language. A universal language that keeps me connected to those who came before me, even as time pulls us apart.
