Tallan Treasure was born out of witnessing a vicious flood destroy my town.

In march of 2017, a vicious flood forced the people of Bajo Piura (in the north of Peru) to leave their homes and their community behind. They abandoned territories that had been their home for more than 900 years, back when they were the great Tallan nation, an ancestral town that prospered through expertise in agriculture and fishing, until the conquest of the incas and the posterior arrival of the spaniards.

After so many centuries of hard work and contribution to the nation, they are still prey to the government's indifference when disaster strikes. What the water and mud leave behind after flooding their houses shows the remains of their ancestral culture, and their timid attempt to adapt to modernity.
