Strange Beauties Series 2

This project not only showcases their beauty but also invites reflection on personal experiences, reminding us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

What is beauty? The term beauty is very ambiguous, some will say that the beautiful is symmetrical, others will mention that it is the imperfect. Since 2015 I began to document through photography different types of birds, emerging an inexplicable complicity between their beauty and my passion. Over time, our connection allowed for a fearless and closest approach, which helped me capture her exotic features and break with the conventional beauty canon.

Strange Beauties Series 2, refers to abstract perception, linked to the existence of attractions other than the usual ones and that incite curiosity, surprise and admiration. In this series doves were documented on a solemn black background, allowing to deepen and highlight its characteristic features, its look and majesty, referring to real characters close to my life.

This project not only allows us to contemplate the beauty of these birds, but also invites us to reflect and weave our own experiences and memories, making us remember that beauty is in the eyes that see it.
