Portraits of scooter drivers in Italy

Naples is one of the biggest towns in Italy. There is so much traffic in the city. To ride a VESPA , a scooter, is common since more than six decades.

I took my pictures near a road junktion with a traffic light in the old town and had to take care of myself in middle of the driving cars and motorcycles. I wanted to portray some of the typical motocycling people of Naples: Vespa-Ragazzi.

The police stopped me some times and asked me what I was doing. I told them "I am a german artist" and they were laughing "Have fun and Good luck".

Each of these images evokes larger questions of transportation, infrastructure and movement.
