The delicate and precarious eco system of a girl's room is one of the most overlooked maps in history. Wars fought and lost, small victories abound, relics and trash mingle harmonious; one depressive episode from being deified or one manic episode from being demonized. There is no balance. There are shifts and phases. There is stagnancy and raucous labor - to cleanse or to cultivate, clusters and codified corners. Ticket stubs and film canisters, cocaine and stale cigarettes, mismatched earrings long lost in the back of wardrobes or bars. Photos of her mother. Advertisements from magazines.
