‘Ours’ is an ongoing work that examines love, family, and grief, as it relates to adoption and trauma.
This love is ours, eternal and unfaltering. The lineage has aged, changing it’s shape with every marriage, with every child. My adoption transformed this ancestry, diluted it like marriage. But, this love is our likeness, it will carry us through.
This ongoing work documents my adoptive family as we expand and age, capturing the ebb and flow of family life. I caught moments of togetherness, where I felt overwhelmed by the love present. Non-consecutive sequencing alludes to love's abundance existing everywhere, always.
