ode to momma - PhMuseum

I started taking photos at 13, and didn't do a shoot with my mom until I was 23. I think I put it off out of fear of not properly capturing her power. She is impossibly made of love.

These are some casual portraits of my mom that I took in our backyard in Seattle, WA. I put a sheet up for a quick background and we spent twenty minutes taking photos, with no styling. I think that mother daughter relationships possess some of the most complicated, reflective, intense loves that humans are capable of. My hope is that these casual little portraits can convey that intimacy.
