Nunca Enganaremos: The Living Nature of the Stone-dead

The project investigates the fantastic reality that bonds together fact and fiction, nature and culture, existence and extinction.

Evidence from hundreds of millions of years shows that Earth and life have gone through massive changes across time, but for the first time, a global change is due to a single species. Humankind has become a geological force.

Ongoing since 2018, this research is looking for evidence of the deep-time past emerging in the contemporary territory and the human relationship with this heritage. It depicts fossils, fossil outcrops, paleontology museums and collections, scientific installations, statues and totems, and other symbols connected with the Earth’s geological past and its life forms.

The documental/fictional nature of the project invites the observer to a journey of recontextualizing the landscape while envisioning other forms of existence as an attempt to address environmental questions that we still don't know how to respond to.
