A series of inverted film negatives — familiar faces rendered strange, presences half-erased. An image that never develops remains alive in another way. Like a sentence never spoken.
The negative does not lie.
It simply says something else.
Before development, before the light that fixes and orders, there is a suspended moment where the image exists without yet belonging to the world. That is where I stop.
Film that no one is waiting for. Familiar faces rendered strange to themselves. White where black should be, shadow where light once lived. Inversion is not a filter — it is a question posed to reality : what if you simply looked the other way?
We sense more than we see: a mouth, an outstretched hand, a body folding into itself. In the negative, people become something else — an uncertain presence, almost erased.
Latent Image is a series about what disappears slowly: forgotten processes, faces that slip away, time that inverts everything without warning. An image that never develops remains alive in another way. Like a sentence that was never spoken.
These fragments of existence form a silent archipelago — islands of presence that we sense without ever quite reaching.
