La Isla son mujeres dormidas is born from my deep reflection on the island of Fuerteventura, where I have experienced an intense connection with the land, its isolation, and the vastness of the ocean. In this work, I explore the psychological transformations that arise from prolonged stays on a desert island, delving into the dreamlike experiences that have colored my time here. Through artistic interpretation, I aim to capture the profound impact of this environment on the psyche, focusing on the intersection of femininity, solitude, and the dreamworld. The project examines how the island’s silence and isolation manifest in vivid, often surreal dreams, offering a window into the hidden layers of consciousness shaped by the island’s mystical presence.
