KIZUNA fragments

A sequence of separate parts and people that come together in certain circumstances, but are not connected in any other way.

Kizuna and Kizu are Japanese words for connection and wound. An experiment uniting people into a small community through a shared symbol. 33 people I didn’t know before agreed to tattoo a scene from a stop-motion video depicting the destruction of my childhood home. I invited them to share a traumatic experience through a physical act of tattooing their bodies, documenting the end result.
