Kayak polo has its origins in late 19th-century Scotland, this sport became popular and started to in the United Kingdom after World War II.

This project uses the raw intensity of Kayak Polo as a visual metaphor for life’s internal and external struggles. This high-intensity sport, thriving on the periphery of the mainstream, becomes a stage to explore human resilience, where every match mirrors the battles we face daily against overwhelming forces.

Moving away from traditional sports journalism, this series focuses on the precise moments where the artificial swell generated by the paddlers rises up, erecting completely huge walls of water. These liquid walls represent the sudden, towering obstacles that life throws in our path. Through high-speed freezing techniques, the athletes are isolated within a chaotic, suspended environment—showing the raw effort, the tension, and the solitary fight required to push through the current and stay afloat.

The project captures fragments of motion that remain invisible to the naked eye, transforming a brutal physical collision into a dramatic choreography of SURVIVAL . It is an inquiry into HOW WE RESPOND when the water rises against us, freezing the ephemeral struggle into a powerful monument of human willpower.

In all, to me it resembles life itself, with its goals, fights and knocks down.
