Kayak polo has its origins in late 19th-century Scotland, where a port game was described, with men using oars and barrels as vessels to compete for a ball. The sport became popular and started as a discipline in the United Kingdom after World War II, and the first rules were published in the 1970s consolidating in this way the practice we know today.
Kayak polo is a team sport where 5 players compete against each other on a water field. Players travel in a 3-meter-long kayak with the help of a paddle that is approximately 2 meters long.
