Wong Wei-him (b.1975) is a street photographer and an architect based in Hong Kong.

This is a very difficult time for Hong Kong. What is on the news is so fictional that we can no longer tell the truth. There are far too many news one could possibly follow. Many of us hope that what had happened in June, 2019 never exists.

What we understand about Time, it flows from the past to present and then to the unknown future, not the other way around. Our mind is the ultimate time machine that can travel back in time, only the problem that images in mind cannot be shared.

A photo cannot represents a thousand words. It is just a photo. I am the only person who knows all these really exist because I am the person who shoot them. I put them in pairs, as it somehow make more sense to me. They are different and yet they shares something in common. During a difficult time in this polarise world and instead of pointing out our difference, we focus on things that we are in common.

'No matter how difficult it is, I believe, there is still a light somewhere in the deep dark awaiting for us.'

is a letter I wrote to the future of Hong Kong. It is a gentle whisper to all the people I capture in this city, whom I don’t know them in person, whom are so real. Hope I can find them well still.
