Ten years after the genocide committed by IS against Yazidis in Iraq and Syria, hundreds of thousands of internally displaced people are still living in camps, many of whom were born here and know no other home. But now the camps are to be closed. A return to the Shingal region is unimaginable for many families. Not only are several militias and armed groups still fighting there for influence from Iraq, Kurdistan, Turkey and Iran. There is still virtually no infrastructure there.
