Eternal Moment

“The world is aflame with things of eternal moment”  L. Mgt. Clarkson

This past January, I returned to my grandparent’s home in Arizona. It was my first time back since my grandfather died the previous May. I spent a week alone with my Grandmother, living amongst her, and partaking in New Year organizational rituals. This new reality without the presence of my grandfather was easily comforted by the remnants which made him feel alive: the dates on scorpion traps, his straw hat still resting on the water bubbler.

There is peace in knowing what remains. All the idiosyncrasies that carry forward in us, and the ways we move. There is hope in holding onto the joy of actualizing love in all things. These images are recognition. Life has changed, not ended. Observational photographs paired with intimate portraiture convey the coalescence.
