This project was born out of childlike curiosity. Always being enamored with nature, the sky, and the effects it has on us, this project is a way for me and the viewer to dive head first into the cosmos. This project represents connection. Connection to ourselves, connection to each other, and connection to nature. Using the science of astrology as the base, I asked each model to speak for either of their Big 3 (sun sign, moon sign, or rising sign) to truly showcase the feelings and partnership we have with the touch of nature and other bodies. I wanted to visually express how each astrological sign interacts when introduced to the elements and each other. Having a diverse group of people model from varying genders, races, sexualities, and backgrounds, while photographing them in varying places from deserts to woodsy mountains to lakes, either alone or in a group, really gives this project a unique, truthful and worldly perspective. This project was done entirely on 35mm film.
