Shortly before the arrival of Covid 19 in Mexico and the healthy distance measures (early March 2020), I had the opportunity to document and get closer to the teachers, classes, recesses of the primary schools in the Sierra Mazateca, Oaxaca.

Classes do not always start at an hour and there is tolerance for delays, as young students, accompanied or unaccompanied by a tutor, walk long distances between home and school.

Children from different communities converge in a space for teaching, where in addition to learning arithmetic operations, they play "kill the devil", they learn the internal parts of a hen, exchange favorite dishes, movies, traditions and legends.

Education in schools strengthens ties of friendship, shapes and changes lives, especially in communities far from large cities where work is customary from an early age in order to support their own family.

That is why it is so important that society and the family encourage the child and do not give him economic or work responsibilities.

Understanding each other from our needs, differences and problems, addresses a better perspective to monitor and prioritize this human right.

Poco antes de la llegada del Covid 19 a México y de las medidas de sana distancia (principios de marzo 2020), tuve la oportunidad de documentar y acercarme a los profesores, clases, recreos de las primarias en la sierra Mazateca, Oaxaca.

Las clases no siempre empiezan a una hora y hay tolerancia con los retardos, ya que los jóvenes estudiantes en compañía o sin compañía de algún tutor, caminan largas distancias entre su casa y la escuela.

Los niños de diferentes comunidades convergen en un espacio para la enseñanza, donde además de aprender operaciones aritméticas, juegan a "matar al diablo", se aprenden las partes internas de una gallina, intercambian platillos favoritos, películas, tradiciones y leyendas.

La educación en las escuelas refuerza lazos de amistad, forma y cambia vidas, en especial a las comunidades alejadas de las grandes ciudades donde se acostumbra el trabajo desde una edad temprana para poder sustentar a su propia familia.

Por eso es tan importante que la sociedad y la familia aliente al niño y no se le adjudiquen responsabilidades de económicas o de trabajo.

Entendernos a partir de nuestras necesidades, diferencias y problemáticas, aborda una mejor perspectiva para dar seguimiento y priorizar este derecho humano.
