Documenting history that is departing us

Visual documentation of rural social and cultural practices that are slowly disappearing.

Traditions in the most remote areas are slowly disappearing. I want to document practices that are a mix of social, religious and cultural values, and with the push of modernity are being transformed. A burial that still translated ancestral practices with a rural touch and unfinished history. A celebration that is a family representation and a unique way of being. An abandoned rural house that was transformed into a Covid rural place for the diseased.

I want to get support to document through photography traditional rural weddings, baptisms, religious celebrations that are still there, but at the same time they slowly disappear. Social and cultural practices that for being so local have the opportunity to become universal. Ephemeral acts that as they fade away end up by questioning time and space and recreate both.
