I intended to poetically portray some of the burned areas in order to report and raise awareness on the subject, relating the man's connection and responsibility over the burnt nature.
Driven by ignorance and greed, human beings sets fire to forests, thinking that they will not be affected.
In Brazil - the country where I was born, where I live and where this photo shoot was made -, in this year of 2020, historical records of forest fires are being broken. There are already tens of thousands of square kilometers burned in different biomes and regions of the country, and the effects have immediately began to be felt.
This photo shoot took place in São José do Rio Preto, the city where I live, a few days after a historic fire in the city's forest. I intended to poetically portray some of the burned areas in order to report and raise awareness on the subject, relating the man's connection and responsibility over the burnt nature.
Each plant, each animal and each inanimate being plays a role in the enormous web of interactions that rules the environment. We do not live apart from nature, we are part of it. We depend on this healthy balance between interactions. But until all humanity recognize and respect the importance of preservation, it may be too late.
