CUMBRA is a visual investigation into the extrasensory sensitivity inherited from my grandmother, a clairvoyant gift to see the supernatural, I am interested in energy and its flow through the earth, the earth as a portal to communicate with my grandma.

ACUNAR LA RAIZ - CRADLE THE ROOT

This project is born from delving into clairvoyance, a third eye, which receives an extrasensory perception of reality. A sensitivity inherited by my grandmother from a very young age, and when I left my place of origin, what connected me to it became contact with the land. This leads me to investigate the way in which imperceptible energy moves through the world, and is interrelated with each other, and in the earth as its primary conductor. The threshold is a thin line that connects two different realities. I explore an invisible thread that passes between the real and the fictional through the natural environment, creating in its wake a bridge that unites the earthly and the ethereal. The threshold is the minimum amount of signal that must be present to be registered by a system. For example, the minimum amount of light that the human eye can detect in the dark. Through intervened and superimposed images, I reflect on the connection between the intangible and the earthly. I explore the amazement of the inexplicable or energetic of a physical reality. I propose to create a threshold, between an interior landscape that gives new meaning to the outside world. Investigate the perception of the image itself as a portal.
