COMETE

"Comete" is a series that focuses on teenagers and young women. I'm interested in seeing how generations change in their relationships with society, but also how the place where they grew up changes their perspectives on life and the future.

“Comete” (Comets) is a series focused on teenagers and young women. I always took portraits of young girls while traveling but since Covid I decided to give a structure to this on-going project, starting from my home country, Italy, mainly in the suburban areas, and bring to have a complete vision to what it means nowadays to be a young woman. I usually met these girls in the streets, in shopping malls, I spoke to them, interviewed them and then portrayed them. The interesting thing for me is to see how generations change in relationships with society, but also how the place where we grew up really changes the perspectives we have on our lives and the future. This journey for me is a sort of survey of the new generations of girls who live their youth in a very complicated world, to understand if and where they find the strength and the tools to realize their dreams.
